I am TRULY SMITTEN!!!

I don't know if you guys have checked out Brooklyn Bride lately, but there are some beautiful photos of Sarah's (from Truly Smitten) wedding. I love, love, love her color scheme! The bouquets are absolutely gorgeous. I LOVE ranunculus!!! They're so beautiful bunched together. I would've loved to crash her wedding! haha.

Sarah is a graphic designer and she's started her own design studio, Truly Smitten. Her work is flawless and she has an amazing aesthetic. She also has a blog that you must check out! You will be TRULY SMITTEN. (Oops! Sorry Sarah, I did it again! haha)

Sarah also interviewed me on her blog! Check it out! Thanks so much, Sarah! That was totally sweet of you! I hope you get to try my cupcakes one day. They're life-changing, I promise!!! haha.

NYC

I have returned from the big apple! I almost didn't make it back, not that it would've been a bad thing, but I had a monstrous cupcake order the next day. American Airlines wouldn't let me on my flight and I ended up having to buy another ticket. That's pretty much where my stimulus check went...and more. =( I know...wah-wah. haha. Anyways, on with the pictures!

Kevin, the graduate. While I was taking pictures at kev's graduation, he introduced me as his photographer. Honestly??!!?? hahah.
Kevin, the kung-fu fighting singer.
Below: dean & deluca. I can't believe they don't have the espresso shake at this location. What a shame! haha. Maybe the worker there misunderstood us.

The BEST RISOTTO EVER!!!! Risotteria in greenwich village. It's a modern, gluten free & vegetarian restaurant and bakery. I ordered the risotto with roasted portobello, mozarella and truffle oil. SOOOOO freaking delicious!!! Janelle and I ordered extra truffle oil, too.

Me, about to gobble down my risotto. rawrrarwarrwararrarwwr. haha.
graduation. my photos are out of order. it's blogger's fault, not mine. haha.
Chocolates from Jacque Torres, Mr. Chocolate.

View of the city from the brooklyn bridge
Kiana at Jacques Torres. Doesn't she look Cover Girl fresh? haha.
Pizza at Grimaldi's in Brooklyn. YUMMMMMM!!!
Kiana looks like she's blowing out a bday cake. I look like I'm ready to punish that pizza!!!! hahah.
I don't want to hype it up too much, but these are seriously one of the best chocolate chip cookies I've ever had in my life!!!! They're from Jacques Torres. Even Martha Stewart proclaimed these cookies of mass deliciousness as the best in New York. You can find the recipe online. I can't find it for you because I am lazy right now =)

The graduates, Will & Kev. Will graduated in SF and Kevin in NY, same day.
His hair makes me laugh. haha.
Will and Kiana at the brooklyn bridge. They ate at Nobu after I left. I hope their meal sucked. j/k. haha.
Rad, Kev's roomie.
Babycakes This just in...Babycakes is coming out to West Hollywood!!! Look out for it come winter 2008. People are going to go crazy, I just know it. Their goods are gluten free, vegan, and refined sugar free. I was really impressed! The cupcakes were moist and not too sweet. I don't know why, but i thought i was going to bite into a rock. Totally off topic, but has anyone seen Sprinkles building a new place off of La Cienega next to Boule? I think they're going to be doing more than cupcakes, but I could just be making this up. I did a drive-by so I didn't get to peek in to see what's really going on.
Outside babycakes.
There were peonies being sold everywhere in NY! I hardly see these in Cali, but then again I've been getting my flowers at the grocery store. Maybe that's my problem.
The entrance to Morimoto's restaurant in Chelsea. Kevin had the nerve to make reservations on the day I left NY. I hope his sushi had worms in it. j/k. That was so mean of me to say. haha.

I would die if I was on the Martha Stewart show!!! haha. That'd be funny to be like, Martha, let me show you a thing or two about cupcakes. You're doing it all wrong! haha. I love martha. =)
The uniforms at Babycakes were designed by Built by Wendy.

Me and my babycake.
I love this picture of Janelle. She's all gangsta in front of Louis Vuitton luggage. haha.
I'll have to post more pictures later. I didn't get to eat at as many restaurants as last time since i was hanging out with the fam. My mom and aunts wanted to eat korean food like 100 times. haha. On my last trip to NY, all we did was eat, walk, taxi, eat. Eat, eat, eat. We did this for 1.5 days, no breaks. Every hour we were consuming something, but it was totally worth it. =) BRB!

photo booth

I'm such a nerd! haha. Right now I'm waiting for my cousin to pick me up so that we can go out to his graduation at Madison Square Gardens. So what do I do until he comes? I play on my friend  Janelle's macbook. Now I know how I'd look if I was morbidly obese...to the tenth power.

NEW 'ROIDS

So I was at Target today and guess what? They had a ton of polaroid film!!! I only bought one package cause they ain't cheap. If you want the best deal it's probably best to go to Costco...while supplies last. 5 pack for $50. I love the washed out colors in these pix.

Random thoughts of the day.

-I think my Lomo is busted. This makes me sad. I might be able to take pictures with it. It just takes forever to get the shutter to release. Is this the punishment I get for trying to carry 3 cameras at once???

-I bet that there are a lot of perverts who come to my blog thinking it's a porno site. People, BOOTY is spelled with a T, not a D!!! haha. I should've thought about this before I started my blog. To me, "shaking that boody" is about me making moves, making things happen. Not me doing booty shaking dance moves! Though I can shake my booty on command. haha.

-My blog is really random.

-I am really tired right now.

-I'll be going out to NYC next week for my cousin's graduation. Congrats, Kev!!! He'll be graduating from Parson's with a degree in communiations design. It's funny because no one in the family knew he had any artistic ability. It came out of nowhere! He's really talented. He'll be better off than me compared to when I graduated. His brother Will also graduates the same weekend in SF. The family is split in two.

-I want these shoes:

-I've been eating McDonalds EVERY WEEK, NO JOKE. I gross myself out. The $1 menu is hard to resist and their ice cream cones make me so happy!!!

-I got my hair did last week-I got a haircut/color job. I couldn't take it anymore! My hair was getting out of control. Plus my roots were showing. It was looking pretty ghetto. I am still trying to grow out my hair.

-This is a cool site if you're into the sartorialist: http://www.garancedore.fr/ It's in french, but it doesn't matter if you can't read it. Just look at the pictures =)

I LOVE ME SOME THICK EYEBROWS!

I know...really random, right? haha After I got my eyebrows threaded I felt like expressing my love for thick eyebrows, of which I have none. =( They were actually the inspiration for my halloween costume last year. A girl can wish, right? I doubt Rogaine would work for the eyebrow area. haha.

The birthday gift

Here is Rayme's bday gift in all its glory. Behold...the Breville Single Cup Coffee Maker!!! Thank you to everyone for the lovely birthday suggestions!!! They'll come in handy for Christmas, too. haha. It made perfect sense to get him this gift because everytime we went into Williams & Sonoma, he would literally drool over this machine. It really makes the perfect cup of coffee. My Rayme has become such a coffee fiend! I love making teas with it. You just buy the K-cups, stick one in and push a button. SO EASY!!! It's such a cool machine. Doesn't he look so happy??? hahha. Finally...a cool gift =) He even made a cover for it so that he can hide it at work!

kitty cake

I did a birthday cake and some mini cupcakes for my neighbor's daughter a couple of weeks ago and he was kind enough to send me a pic of the arrangement. What's crazy is that I didn't even know he had a daughter! haha. I only knew that they had a 3-legged chihuahua because Rayme and I rescued him one night. I guess I'm not very neighborly. haha. Anyways, the theme was "Kitty kitty". Keolani (the daughter) loves cats. Isn't she cute???

I'll post a picture of the gift I got Rayme sometime this week. Happy Belated Birthday, Rayme! xoxo! hahah.

The pic below is from last year. I love the characters behind us!!!

Here are a few snapshots from my mini vacay. I feel like I've been away for a while, but really it was only for a weekend. It was fuh-fuh-fuh-freezing up in SF! Definitely wasn't prepared for it. Didn't do much shopping, but did quite a bit of EATING!!! I'm really good at it. =) I work hard for my double chin. Ok, I'm so not proud of that. It needs to go, really. haha.

Here is a list of where we went, where we ate:
-Pakwan in the mission for some delicious indian/pakistani food
-The Concourse, to see Rilo Kiley
-Sophie's Crepes in japantown (my favorite crepe place EVER!!! Guaranteed to make you happy. Get #17, the japanese crepe. It comes with green tea ice cream, adzuki beans and matcha sauce (green tea sauce))
-Cherry Blossom festival in japantown
-Haight st.
-Tartine (YUM!!!)
-Bi-rite creamery (YUM!!!)
-Ella's for brunch (If you love breakfast, try this place!)
-Rasella's (ethiopian restaurant with jazz music)
-Mifune in japantown
-Union Square
-The food court in the westfield mall. Probably the coolest food court i've ever been to. They don't serve crappy food and it's very modern-looking. Good lighting, too. I'll have to try and find one of my old pics to illustrate.
-Kara's cupcakes-try the banana caramel cupcake if you're ever there.
-Ride in our cruisers along the embarcadero and fisherman's wharf

I might post more pics later, but I'm pooped right now! Gotta go wrap up the BF's bday gift. It's tomorrow!!! Thanks Hwangsta for being our hostess!!! Can't wait to go back to SF!!!

Paw Paw

This made me a little sad. Martha Stewart's dog passed away and she just blogged about it. It traces the days leading up to his death. SO SAD!!!! The comments she left on each picture really got me. I never understood how people could get so attached to their pets until I had my dogs. They're seriously like humans! Stay strong, martha!

Check it out...

Happy early BDAY, YUKO!!!

I'm giving a blog shout out to my dear friend Yuko because I ALWAYS seem to miss her birthday. I've missed at least 3-4 in a ROW. (Sorry, Yuko!) I'll be in SF from thursday to sunday, going to the Rilo Kiley concert on Thursday night. It's a much needed mini vacation. Anyways, meet my friend, Yuko! She's cute, friendly, funky and pretty much the loudest person I know. haha. She takes cool pictures with her inexpensive nikon digital camera and posts them all over her myspace. I don't know anyone who has as many pictures as her. haha. I love it!

I'll be sure to post more next week. I've been neglecting the blog/shmog. I'm an idiot and forgot to take pictures of the cakes I made last weekend. =(

Otanjou-bi Omedetou Gozaimasu, Yuko!

I had all these images lined up to post, but I seem to have lost some of them. There were some images from my brunch at Campanile off La Brea Ave. in LA-SOOOO GOOD, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, GREAT EBAYER J/K! =). But seriously, brunch was amazing. Also went to Urth caffe , Joan's on Third, La Brea Bakery, AND a barbeque, all in the same day! OINK! hhaha.

I have a busy weekend ahead of me. Will post more later. Have a good weekend, everyone!
