Meet Kaili!

A couple of weeks ago I was asked to make a birthday cake for Kaili's 3rd birthday. I've never met a kid so excited about her own birthday cake! She's so cute and so sweet! When she first laid eyes on the cake, the look on her face was priceless. She couldn't stop smiling! She definitely made my heart smile. =) She might even grow up to be a photographer one day! She took the last picture with Grant holding a green ab ball. Happy 3rd Birthday, Kaili!!! We miss you!

On a side note, I feel like I should've asked permission to post the pictures of these kids since they're not mine. I guess it's too late now. haha.
Uncle Tony trying to take Kaili's cake away. Mean Uncle Tony! Who does that??? j/k. haha. Kaili trying on Aunty Ying's glasses.

The most beautiful coat like EVER!

photo: the sartorialist

Every now and then I'll pull up this picture and just swoon over it. I have a huge crush on this coat...no..I LOVE this coat. It makes me melt and feel mushy inside. I think it's from the stella mccartney fall '06 collection. Of course the fashion goddess Carinne Roitfeld is wearing it. I just love the construction and the way that it drapes and folds, even the textures. I want one so bad!!! I wish one would fall out of the sky. Even if it fell on me and knocked me unconscious, I wouldn't care. Does anyone understand how I feel or am I just crazy??? haha. I am a little crazy, I'll admit.

Homeless people love HEY CUPCAKE!

photo: tuftsmania (click on photo to enlarge)

Back in summer of '06, my friend Chris, of TUFTSMANIA fame, ordered some cupcakes from me. He was so moved by the cupcakes (ok, i made that part up. haha) that after sharing them with the world he blogged about them. This is what he said...

"These little things were so good that I wanted to share with everyone I came in contact with. Friends, Family, Family I didn’t know, Moms, Dads, brothers, sisters, friendly looking strangers, angry looking strangers, dirty looking strangers, dirty looking friendly strangers, sex offenders, criminals, crooks, whores. For some reason these little cupcakes really perked me up. (crack)"

Chris did indeed share the cupcakes with his loved ones and his unloved ones. He gave a cupcake to a homeless man who hustles Brookhurst in Santa Ana AND he took a polaroid of him before the man gobbled it up. (He was homeless, right Chris? I hope I didn't make that up. I'd feel really dumb. haha) Anyways, I thought that was SO SWEET! It really made me happy. =) THANKS CHRIS!

For any of you music lovers out there, Chris knows everything and anything about music. His ears are golden AND they're insured. Boo-ya!

Abbot Kinney: Things to do in LA

Abbot Kinney is a cool little neighborhood with places to eat, shop or hang out. I love that it's laid back. When my ex-roommate Jennifer and her friend came out to southern california I really wanted to take her out there but we never got a chance to go because there just wasn't enough daylight. (Next time, Jennifer! =)) Since we couldn't make the trek down there I thought I'd post some pics of when I went last year.

I can't remember the names of all the places that I went to, but I will try my best! I'll be more prepared to blog next time. haha.

In front of Jin Patisserie. Such a cute place with a great courtyard (sorry no pics) and the desserts are divine! They also serve tea sandwiches here and have These are the desserts that we had below:
I can't remember much about the desserts except that the one on the far left is a green tea dessert and the macaroon, which I gobbled up, was rose flavored. I love floral flavors. YUM!

These are the cute mini cakes that were inside.
If you love french country, you MUST visit this store! It's called Bountiful.

There's also a great flower shop called Floral Art. I bought the cutest little vessel that looks like an egg. I'll have to post a pic of it sometime.

Shmanyways...that's Abbot Kinney in a nutshell!

Before I go, I have to tell you guys a new corny joke that I heard today.

Q: Where do sheep go to get their hair cut?

A: THe Baaaaaah-baaaaaaaah shop. hahahhaah. I love it! (Don't forget to bah like a sheep. That's the best part.)

2007 was one big BLUR...really.

So this was the last picture taken with Rayme's camera (my man =)) before it dropped and displayed a "lens error" on the screen. This guy who was hitting on Rosie dropped the camera and it pretty much broke. To think out of all the cameras that I own I had to break someone else's. And out of all the days of the year, it had to be on the night of my birthday celebration! What a way to ring in the big 2-8! haha. I felt terrible afterwards and didn't want to break the news to Rayme. But when I did, he was incredibly understanding! If it was me, I know I would've been sad and be like, (SIGH).....(SIGH)......(SIGH)....hahha. Apparently the camera had been dropped before and it got sent in for repair. So I mailed that sucker back and now it's back in his hands. Only it makes a weird sound and it isn't quite the same. SORRY, RAYME! I'll get you a better camera next time! =)

Let this be a lesson learned...if I ever ask you to borrow a camera, JUST SAY NO!

edit: I am still blogging to myself. haha
