shake that boody!: January 2009

Before school started my friend Rosie came out for a quick visit. Hope you had fun out here, Rosie! I'm so glad you came even though you came at the coldest it's ever been out here. Even the newscasters couldn't explain the cold spell. We were walking in 12 degree weather. I think Rosie actually enjoyed it.

FYI: If anyone comes and visits me in the city you get to be featured on the blog. If that doesn't convince you to come out to NY, I don't know what will. J/K, J/K!!!! haha.

I've never seen nutella this big! You could probably dunk your face into it. Imagine how many cupcakes I could frost with this.

I was at the burger king at LAX and totally rammed my backpack into Cisco Adler (the guy on the right). He was really nice about it. haha. We ended up seeing shwayze and cisco in concert at webster hall.

Good riddance to 2008!!!!! haha. I'm so excited about 2009 that I even have a theme song. I'm just cheesy like that. haha. If rap/hip hop music doesn't interest you then maybe you shouldn't play it, but I like few of the lines that are in this Swizz Beatz song. It's called Top Down. Showtime!

So I'm finally back in the city. My winter break was great. I created my own action-packed California vacation (I sure missed the outdoors) and spent lots of time with family and friends. Here are a few things that I did:

-Hike around Griffith Observatory

-Snowboard at Snow Summit and get a concussion, along with two bruises the size of grapefruits on my elbows.

-Surf at Mission Beach the day after I went snowboarding. My body was in so much pain, but it felt so good to be in the water! It made me feel alive.

-Locking and hip hop classes at the Homeland/Macarthur center in Long Beach (in the hood). America's Best Dance Crew, here I come!!!!

-Take a bike ride around my old neighborhood.

-Cupcake orders. I have the sweetest customers =)

-Eat a lot.

-Play bingo at a casino. I was 4 numbers away from winning the $15K jackpot, but so was everyone else. haha.

-Get pregnant. J/K!!!!! hahaha. You'll see why I mentioned that. It's a joke, people! Please don't spread any rumors. I would be horrified. haha.

My former homeless roommate and bikeriding buddy Mike. My ex-roommates and I took in Mike and his roommate when their place got flooded. We are kind souls, aren't we Mike? haha. Mike will be getting married soon. Ball and chain!!!!! j/k, Aimee! haha.

This bike has won the napa valley dirt classic. Sadly the rider of that race wasn't me. I just bought the bike. One day...haha.

One of my favorite meals EVER! The manager's special at the Spaghetti Factory. It's all about the mizithra and mushroom/meat sauce. I dreamed about eating this. haha. Thanks for the meal, Cat!

If you are a keen observer you'll notice that my bangs have been getting shorter and shorter throughout this post. It's a throwback/homage to when I was 4 years old. haha.

AT Lamill in Silver Lake with Jeni. Jeni, I loved this place! Can't wait to go back! I'm glad we got to hang out! Thanks for the meal and the dulce de leche! I'm scared that I'm going to eat the entire thing...by myself. haha.

Loved my earl grey tea. The barista even asked us to try a new concoction that she labored over all day. It tasted like cracker jacks with peanut butter. I think we forgot to give her feedback. whoops. ahha.
